Charles Campaign Responds to $500,000 Out of State TV Ad Buy Supporting Garrett Mason

Maine Conservative and U.S. Naval Intelligence Officer Says “Maine, watchout, this is only the beginning!”

Leeds, Maine-

The Bobby Charles for Governor campaign today responded to reports of a massive out-of -state television ad buy, estimated at $500,000, from a group supporting Garrett Mason.

Joel Stetkis, Campaign Chairman and immediate past Chairman of the Maine Republican Party, released the following statement:

“Out of state special interests are dropping half a million dollars into Maine to try to buy this race for an Augusta insider with a record of voting against increased public safety funding. It is the same tired playbook where powerful political groups try to handpick Maine’s leaders instead of letting Maine people choose for themselves. Maine voters buckle up, this is just the beginning!

Bobby Charles is running a very different kind of campaign. He has the highest number of individual donors of any Republican candidate for governor in Maine because he is not owned by anyone. Bobby is a Naval intelligence veteran, a federal investigator, and a proven crime fighter. Maine people trust him because he has spent a lifetime serving his country and standing up for the rule of law, not because a billionaire paid for a television ad.

If out of state money wants to meddle in Maine’s elections, that is their choice. But it will not change the fact that Bobby Charles is the only candidate ready to cut crime, cut taxes, and clean up the mess in Augusta. Maine voters cannot be bought. Not for $500,000 and not for any price.”
